Hopefully they will release a patch to open the Aegia Physx section of CM2 for the Nvidia card.

Is this the full version? I remember playing The Incredible Machine (fundamentally the same game AFAIK) when I was little :)

Glass is half empty, huh. The alternative is that they didn't offer anything at all. But this shows that their team is working to further develop the technology and not sitting idle.

I rather have nvidia work on a mod. Let's say a fallout 3 mod, with physx incorporated. Or maybe something a little easier, a game that allready uses nvidia physx, and nvidia THEN making a mod for it, adding awesome, gameplay altering features to it. I tihink, that if nvidia were to throw some real money at it, and make a mod/expansion for a triple a title, it could really drive up sales. Can you imagine the buzz surrounding such a mod and physx?

This all opposed to some lame demo's and stupid games virtually no-one really cares about. Physx CAN do great things, it's just not doing it, which is really to bad.

Well these are free and the competition as yet to offer anything at all.

I know some people expect to get 5 full versions of the top games for free every 3 months...

I guess Unreal Tournament 3 is a game no one cares about or GRAW.

Mirror's Edge should be pretty good and it looks like more are on the way. Although I have a feeling nothing will make you happy based on your previous posts.

Last pack they gave a free full version game and some maps for UT3, this pack they give out 2 Maps for the free game and a free screensaver. That's pretty damn good if you ask me.

thats pretty much it, nvidia is halfway comitted to the tech, they take a step forward and then a step back.

kind of like with SLI. (with both companies, but nvidia to a greater degree, AMD is a little more invested in xfire, but still not fully)

Did you see how many apps and demos are available in Power Pack 2?
Here, let me list them again:

Two new levels for Warmonger?Tombstone and Asylum

Crazy Machines 2?Featuring GPU-accelerated NVIDIA PhysX effects

Dark Basic Fluids Demo by Kenneth Bugeja

Dark Basis PhysX Soft Body Demo by Kenneth Bejega

NVIDIA PhysX Screensaver

Power Director 7.0 Trial?with NVIDIA CUDA-accelerated video effects

TMPGENC XPRESS 4.6.2.266 Trial?with NVIDIA CUDA-accelerated video effects

This appears "halfway" committed? Really? All this is now live and downloadable at the Nvidia website. Uncommitted.

This is more than worth the download for Warmonger alone- it's a good demonstration of what PhysX adds to games.

Destructable buildings, cloth that moves realsitically, particles in the wind, etc..

True story:

Yesterday my 8 year old interrupts my web surfing to tell me "I really like those PhysX levels in Unreal, Dad. It's pretty cool how you can blow everything up and they have weather. I like them better than the other levels."

In any case, there's a fair amount of PhysX content to play with now, another full title showing up next month, and more on the way. Seems like a good kick off to me.

I've paid money for much worse games than Warmonger, and it's free. Can't beat that!

Do you need the 180.48 drivers for this? I had bad studdering with the 180's in L4D and went back to 178.24

I like the UT 3 levels but the rest is kinda lame. I'm with MarcVenice on this one, I wish they would demo the tech by adding more to existing, top tier games. The UT3 levels where great but GRAW? Did anyone actually play that on the PC?

I'm all about a Fallout 3 mod or something cool in Sins, Stalker, or even CS:S.

Guess that just means you have bad taste in games ;)

Is that even out on PC yet? If so I look forward to checking it out soon on my nvidia rig. Though I really hope they have a demo since the concept of the game seems rather boring to me.

I can't wait until nVidia wisens up to what consumers want (I love assuming I represent all consumers ;) ) and releases more FPS mods/levels using PhysX. That may have me back in the green camp after a brief foray with my lovely 4870.

Could be.

I just wondered if it was the same as the Xbox version or if it will have added PhysX bits, because if it is the same as the Xbox one I'd have thought most PC's could handle it without hardware physics.

Nah, sometimes they just don't turn out they way you hoped and I like UT3 type games. Sometimes it's fun to just run around shooting guys. :)

I have removed several posts that clearly are off topic references to things other that the Physx 2 pack.

nice one false christian... Honestly the game is free and nobody wants to play it (me included)... i did the toturial and played a couple of times and that its. It is a really bad game.
Graphics, physics, those don't make a game fun. Gameplay, story, voice acting, level design, mechanics... those make a game fun.

as for not comitted:

- Two new levels for Warmonger?Tombstone and Asylum
One game? and this is now two new levesl, its been how long since the last level for it was released? they should have made an entire campaign by now. not two more levels. And made made the game good while at it.

- Crazy Machines 2?Featuring GPU-accelerated NVIDIA PhysX effects
... is there REALLY a need for physics for crazy machines? anyways that series sucked for a while... I recommend you try out goo-world.

- Dark Basic Fluids Demo by Kenneth Bugeja
- Dark Basis PhysX Soft Body Demo by Kenneth Bejega
Two tech demoes... by "some guy"? Is he even compensated for nvidia for this? do we really need to see ANOTHER demo of physics?

- NVIDIA PhysX Screensaver
Science preserve me... think of the waste of POWER! the fan loudly churning as the GPU crunches physx data... for a screen saver? And I shudder at the DX bugs it would cause (for example, if the screen saver turned on while some DX thing or another was running). And it is a SCREEN SAVER.

- Power Director 7.0 Trial?with NVIDIA CUDA-accelerated video effects
- TMPGENC XPRESS 4.6.2.266 Trial?with NVIDIA CUDA-accelerated video effects

Those seem like nice programs... but those are just trial versions. So ok, this time they are showing there is actually software for it, which you can buy.

Some companies like microsoft showed us how it is done with the xbox... nvidia has the money, it could invest in some game companies for them to make games that had native physX implementation. If they were trying to avoid annoying people they could have made it scaleable physX so you could play those games on a CPU only... at the cost of it not looking as good. But you know what? it could have ended up making them a goldmine. Like how halo probably paid for itself and then some for microsoft.
