Assume 60 FPS cap for Max FPS. I upgraded from a GTX 770 to the GTX 970 and hadn't tested out any Physx games yet. Finally got around to it today and it seems my GTX 650 is now holding back performance rather than helping it like it used to.

Summary - The GTX 650 is too slow to pair up with a GTX 970.

Used driver version 353.06, screen resolution of 1080p, with the GeForce Experience default optimization settings, which include setting hardware Physx to high.

CPU

Min - 19
Average - 41

GTX 650

Min - 35
Average - 55

GTX 970 Only

Min - 43
Average - 58

Average of 3 runs with nearly identical (+/- 1 FPS) results each time.

Computer Specs - ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Motherboard, Core i5 3570k at stock, 16GB DDR3.

Time to upgrade that card to a 750 TI

Also is this with Physx set to high or medium?

the 970 is much better at scheduling. This is a pretty big deal in a lot of cases and it is starting to show more and more in the more recent game launches.

I am glad you posted this though. Its good know.

I wonder how much better a 750ti would be?

Yeah I used to run 2 x 9800GT and a Geforce GT 240 as the PhysX accelerator but even the mid range 560Ti, GTX 680 and now GTX 970 are fast enough for both graphics and PhysX acceleration.

I'm playing Batman:Arkham Origins with a single GTX 750Ti with PhysX acceleration on high.

I'd like to see your results with Batman:Arkham Knight when it releases next week.

When I used my 750Ti + 770 4GB model I was averaging 8-10 fps more, looks like the 650 just isnt enough and the main gpu can do better alone.
