i am stuck on my physics hw, i am pretty confused at what the problem wants me to do. I am learning wave-particle duality.

A neutron has a kinetic energy of 10 MeV. What size object is necessary to observe neutron diffraction effects?
Is there anything in nature of this size that could serve as a target to demonstrate the wave nature of 10MeV neutrons?


so 10Mev = .5mv^2
so how can i find what size object is necessary to observe neutron diffraction effects?

i dont have my quantum book handy. but how much bigger then a photon is a nuetron?

cause you can see photon diffraction useing a diffraction aparatus. and all that has to be is a space in a wall. can be on teh size of inches and such. same as teh dubble slit interference expirement done by young
