Physical Ram cache

I have 2gb of muskin pc2-8500 and am running vista, Im not sure if its normal but my ram is always cached around a 1gb. can anyone tell me if this is normal or if theres a solution?

Because unused memory is wasted memory. Would you rather it left it all free so that you could spend more time waiting on disk I/O?

would I benefit from running Vista x64 instead of x86 that I'm running for the extra 700mb or ram the 32 bit isn't utilizing? After overclocking I hope to run Crysis on high at a decent frame rate.

Doubtful. I'd bet that the MM routines are virtually identical, if not exactly the same code, between the two ports.

IIRC, Crysis is a native 64 bit application that does see real world performance increases.

Not sure, as I wouldn't run Crysis on Vista to begin with... Hacked DX9 for me 🙂

atm Im running it in DX9 on vista 32 and im getting around 40 fps out of combat and 25-35 in combat settings all on high, with my stock cpu...which is planned for an OC.
