hello all, just lately i've been having a memory problem it seems, depending on which game it will just freeze for a second, exit the game (bf2/cs 1.6) and then it will go to a blue screen of death for maybe a second or so and all i could read was something about a memory problem. What the hell is up with this? I have a gig of corsair pc3200 ram, amd 3200+, nvidia 7800gt. I have no idea what the hell is up, i just started getting this problem today.

is there any way i can try to see what the error on the blue screen says? it just restarts after like a second and i cant read any of it. I already have automatically restart unchecked under my system properties -> startup and recovery.

It's most likely RAM. Download the .ISO of Memtest86, burn it to a CD, and boot from it. Keep it running for a couple hours.

You don't have to have a floppy. Like the other post mentioned, you can burn the .iso file to a CD. Remember it is a bootable .iso, so you don't have to tell NERO to make a bootable project.

With Nero burning ROM 6.SE

1. when it opens, kill the 'new compilation' window (click the little X)
2. Select 'Recorder' from the top menu
3. select "burn image..." from the drop down menu
4. browse to your iso and select it
5. click the "burn" button

Then just leave the CD in the drive and restart your machine and let it run for a couple hours. If you have any errors it's obvious and you'll know easily.

edit: If your 1GB is two sticks of RAM try running with only one.... then the other to see which is giving you the errors (if any) you find when you run memtest86+

Try checking then unchecking the Startup and recovery" option for automatically restart again. Sometimes Windows messes up it's checked/unchecked status (at least I have seen that a couple times). Other than that, have you checked your event viewer to see if anything is reported there?
