As posted, whats the physical difference? how many transistors? cache?

Hah, I agree. But I checked for you anyway:

Thunderbird = 37 million transistors, 120 mm^2 die, 128KB L1 cache, 256KB L2 cache (384KB total)

Athlon 4/Polomino/MP = 37.5 million transistors, 128 mm^2 die, 128KB L1 cache, 256KB L2 cache (384KB total)

Pentium 4 = 42 million transistors, 217mm^2 die, 8KB L1 cache, 256KB L2 cache (256KB total, L1 mirrors L2)
