Wrong Forum, but I'd reccommend CS (8.0) or CS2. I have CS and have been very happy with.

I got Adobe Creative Suite CS2 fairly cheap being that I am a student. It includes Photoshop CS2 (9.0)

photoshop elements is awesome IMHO

Photoshop Elements is good, but it is not nearly as powerful as Photoshop CS2, which is the best version to get IMHO.
