Photoshop Question

I'm not at my computer right now so I can't mess with photoshop but my question is:
Is there a way in photoshop to determine the percent of a cerain shade of white?

I'm doing some research trying to find an effective way to break up some colored material and I am currently judging dispersion qualitatively. Basically if I scanned the filter paper is there a way to measure how much of the filter paper color is visible?

Thanks in advance

It sounds like you're trying to use a scanner as a spectrophotometer... this isn't going to be very accurate, but as you said - it's a qualitative measurement, not a quantitative one.

Look for the "Show Info" option in Photoshop's "Windows" menu. The floating palette will give you the color ratios you are looking for.

Good luck!

I'm not really using it as a spectrophotometer. I'm using it to basically see how well a chemical does at dispersing a fibrous deposit which has a gray tint. Basically I'm trying to simulate a chemical boilout of a paper machine and judge it's effectiveness.

Edit: Thank you very much by the way
