Photoshop Question.

lets say i have 100 images in a folder and they all have a white wide line at the bottom of all my image. I want to get rid of that white line. what's the best way to batch this process? All the images are of different heights. Each one has a white line at the bottom about 20 pixels high.

I want to get rid of the white line so that i'm left with the image. a batch process would be the easiet thing to do.. but how do i set it to SELECT ALL, and then Subtract 20 pixels from the bottom of the selection, and then Crop?

basically.. how do i tell Photoshop to crop out the bottom 20 pixels of the image without having to do it manually.

Try this.

Record the entire process via an Action:
- Open file
- Use the rectangular marquee tool to select the bottom 20px of the image
- Shft + Ctrl + I (inverse select)
- Crop
- Save

If your images are of similar width but only of different heights this should work.

I haven't tried it but it looks pretty similar to an action i recorded a while back.

Step 1: Choose files/folder
Step 2: Choose filters (in your case, crop > bottom edge > 20 pixels)
Step 3: Choose output format

Then hit the 'convert' button!

Yes, but even that is still a good thing to have.

BTW I just used ReaConverter to soften my 71 snaps of the Miss Universe pageant (cable signal is all interlaced, Rea's filters took care of that...in batch!)

woot! found out how to do it in photoshop. someone on a different forum was able to figure it out. it was so simple and right in front of my eyes!! the Relative checkbox.

Image->Canvas Size. Set height drop down to 0 pixels. Click the upper center anchor arrow. Check the "Relative" check box, and then type -20 into the height pixels box. Click ok.

typing "20" will add 20 pixels of blank space. You need "-20"
