photoshop help

i can't figure out how to do this...
I have a picture of a revolver on a square white background. how do i get a just the reolver with no white background at all? i've tried with PS 7 and Corel Draw X3 and can't figure it out.

i would love if someone could explain it to me but if someone can do what i want i would be really grateful.

Just use the magic wand to select and delete the white. That is the easiest way.

use the "magic wand" tool (i think thats what its called in PS), select the area around the gun and erase it
