It's a lot darker in photoshop automatically and when I save for web, it's bright again. Anyone knows what the problem is?

Because photoshop doesn't ignore gamma data like many other jpeg decoders, like the one that windows and IE use.

If you go "file > save" it gets bright again, or only if you you do "save for web"?

most likely a color profile situation. When you view things on the web, profiles are irrelevant, so most likely photoshop is discarding the imbedded profile when you "save for web".

only when I choose "Save for Web".

[EDIT] Wrong, it ALWAYS gets bright again.

So if you open a file in PS, save it, close it, and open it again, it's brighter than the first time you opened it?

It was a color profile error. It's fixed now :)
