I have to save this photoshop file as either a .tiff or a .eps file to have it go in next months computer paper publication.

the file name is

paperad.bmp 100% background RGB

its a black and white file.

when i go to FILE and choose SAVE AS my only option is PSD/PDD

ugh! how do i change it? Is it because its in a bitmap file right now?

Go to save a copy. Then you can choose. And anything between 5-10 quality is usually good enough.

You could've hit the F1 key (too simple) or RTFM!!

(You do have the manual, right? It should've come with the CD. You got the CD, right?)

This could have been a good question. In order to save it as other formats, you would need to ensure that the image has been flattened, that there is only 1 layer, and the mode is also important. Even though you can export a multilayered psd out as a gif, you could do very little with it otherwise, until it was flattened. Then you could save to other formats.

I know that is not the answer, but that is a truth.
