I'd like to apply a shaddow simular to what Apple used. Here's an example. It looks like the picture is standing on a reflective white base with lots of light glaring on it. Anybody have a tutorial for this?

mirror the image on a new layer (flip it vertically and align it exactly in place as if the MAC was sitting on a mirror)
set the opacity to some small number so ya can see through it
take the gradiant tool with white to red (or some other color that is obviously NOT in the picture - trust me)
make a gradient from white on the bottom fading to red just at the top of the "shadow" or just below the original picture
set the color settings to change red to transparent so it looks like the shadow now fades into white
adjust the image on this layer and pull the bottom up so that it seems to squish the "shadow" a little
"transform" the "shadow" and drag it off to the left a little

voila

Sorry to 'hijack' the thread, but I had a question too. How do I fade one image into another? I can only cross-fade with one colour and one image.

Thanks, but how do I change it so that it replaces red with transparent?

what you need to do is add a mask with a gradient if you're using PS. You can go from black to white and it'll make your image transparent. Otherwise, you can use the eraser and make sure it has some feathering on it and erase part of your image.

Triple J, try this
