I have been going nuts trying to find good recommendations/reviews for LCD monitors to be used for photo editing. I do quite a bit of photo editing primarily of people and just want skin tone/ color/print consistency. I know that whatever I get I will need to get a color calibrator. Rarely I will do some gaming, but nothing that needs to be super twitchy. I don't want to shell out the dough for an Eizo, I'm not going to be watching DVD's or HD on it either.

Let me know what you've been using and happy with or if you know something great is coming in the near future.

Thanks for any input!!

Well, compared to pro monitors, the NEC 20WMGX2 (20" widescreen) is very reasonably priced at ~$600. Paired with a calibrator, you'll get out-of-this-world performance. Nothing better for under $1000 total (monitor + calibrator). There's also the HP LP2065 which apparently calibrates well (though has been rumored to have a S-PVA panel lately so I'd avoid it for now).

In regards to LCD widescreen , is there a realvisual difference in the Viewsonic line between 20 and 22 and the VG vs the VX series. I saw the VX 2035 and was quite impressed vs the 22 which seem a little dull/ less sharp. I understand the 2035 has a s pva panel
