Is there any validity to what this kid is talking about?

Warning: It has to do with Obama's birth certificate.

I would appreciate commentary from AT's expert PhotoShop community.

Thanks.

This is soooo three weeks ago!

And completely debunked. The extra "layer" was created when some clerical type choose an improper format while scanning the image for digital pulication. The exact effect was demonstrated using a standard office copier/scanner

Here's the thing. The fear that Obama was born outside the us is nothing but thinly vailed racism. Let's say for a second that he WAS born outside the US. So now what??? Oh my god the sky has just fallen? He's proven that in the last few years he can run the country just as well or better than any other president before. If you were in food stamp lineups or they had signed a peace treaty with terrorists then fine you have an argument. But not much has changed in the past couple of years, less in fact than most on the left wing would like to have seen changed. He's certainly better than Bush ever was.

I would reply but I have no intent of turning this into a P&N thread.

I posted in OT for technical commentary only.

Hehe, silly conspiracy theorists. Some scanning software that comes with your scanner has a feature that if you select it, will automatically try to detect and convert text to more a more legible vector shapes. The keyword here is try, because as you can tell from the video that only certain characters are affected, this can be attributed to an old, faded document being scanned, so some of the characters are not as clear as others for the software to pickup and convert -- hence the various layers if opened in adobe Illustrator.

Second, the the video narrator shot himself in the foot when he accuse the forgery artist of creating the certificate in Illustrator...any competent graphic designer/artist knows to use Photoshop for a project like this.

I'll give that guy an E for effort.

I did scanning for years. Since the late 90s all types of software will enhance and some even attempt to fill supposed text. Its not perfect though. And in opening up those scans especially zoomed in you'll see some of things he saw. Some scan software is so good it can take a almost black document remove the background and you are only left with text. Text that the scanner and software believe it is.

Also if he thinks the baddest man on the planet right now, Obama, lol, can't get a top notch forgery, he needs to ask somebody.

Of all the Constitutional issues this country has, these fucktards pick a technicality to harp on. Even if he WASN'T born in this country, who the fuck cares? I'd rather have my due process, freedom of speech, and protection from illegal search and seizure. Let a fuckin' Mexican national run the country for all I care, so long as he upholds the Constitution.

If the people vote for him, who cares where the president is from? It's a stupid rule, especially considering the first presidents were all foreigners.

I have a fear that he was born outside of the US, and I would never once count it as racism. I have plenty of african american friends and colleagues. On top of that I believe that the natural born American rule to be president should be removed, and we should have the right to elect whoever does the best job. Whether or not Barack is from Kenya does not change how well he can run our country.

My "fear" comes from having a president who is consistently lying to the American public about who he is. For a man to run on the campaign slogan of "Change we can BELIEVE IN" then to lie about his origins says a lot about his character, and that is not the kind of man I would want to run my country (if he were to be lying.)

And what exactly is the basis of your belief that he wasn't born in America?

if Obama was indeed born outside the US (this is entirely theoretical conjecture on my part, I never did and never will take seriously the contention that he was) then whether he is a good President or not, he is not qualified under the rule of law to have been elected President. All other discussions about his relative competence are spurious; the fact of the matter remains that he was unqualified.

Here's a crazy idea kid---what if the picture they showed the press was from a PDF file? That would put all those Adobe marks on there. Nah...that would make too much sense.

Anyway, I'm more with the Afterbirther movement: I DEMAND TO SEE OBAMA'S PLACENTA AND MUCUS PLUG!!!

Validity? Yes.

If you open that file you will see those layers, etc.

Does that mean it's a fake? Not necessarily.

Ah yes, the good old "I'm not racist, I've got ______ friends!" bit.
