Photoshop CS2 Help.........

My wife is a photographer and uses or has been using photoshop CS2. Well lately it has it starts out fine then begins to move very slowly then lock up. Anyone have any ideas what would be causeing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the system as a whole locking up or just photoshop?

Thanks for takeing the time to help...........It is just photoshop.....Well I say that, but it only happens with photoshop running. If it is closed. we never have a problem.
