- I don't mind the sharp contrast so much... It kind of says "I know I'm not real" - is it distracting?

What is really distracting is the varience in the contrast and resolution.

If that were the case, and if he were to want to a GOOD job😀...then he would adjust the contrast so it takes into accoutn the reflective properties of the blades of grass on the right...

Sort of like how Darkness in a room creeps towards a source of light with a set gradient.

Keep in mind, if you imagine the sun directly opposite the moon in the sky (above the horizon, night and day at the same time... so NOT earth)... then the rock on the far left is in the same focus as the island...

though I think it could be darker...

It's NOT lame. My method of trying to depict the problem is what is lame😛


You have indeed pointed out the weak spots but what I am most concerned about, what could add the most to this, is a gradual increase pluss that "barier" in contrast...not JUST a cutoff point...

Both of these only begin to describe what I mean, with the latter actually doing a job of it.

Basically, what makes photopgraphy, or digital illustrations stand out is realism, or immaculate atention to detail with what many take for granted.

Ambient light is indeed interfering with the dark contrast of the incoming storm...portray that and you'll be solid..
