I'm having trouble getting an image to show up in the browser exactly how it looks in photoshop.
It has Adobe RGB embedded in there.
I tried converting it to sRGB before saving it by going to edit -> assign profile or edit -> convert profile
I tried saving for web and telling it to discard the color space and i tried telling it to convert to sRGB

Nothing worked.

The weird thing is that adobe rgb images usually look desaturated in the browser. This image gets more saturated in the browser.

I don't think the browser can handle Adobe RGB. I think it's best if you convert everything to sRGB. Even then, it wont look like how it looks in photoshop! Photoshop has an extra omph! to all their pics!
 
Isn't there colors that are used only for web? Meaning if you have colors that are not suitable for web, they will be discarded.

It is probably discarding your extreme colors, therefore making your image appear desaturated because you no longer have a larger spectrum of colors that can be used.
 
In firefox if you set color management to on(1) in about:config you will see the correct image no matter what color space provided you have a valid monitor profile specified in windows color management settings.

Photoshop automatically uses this display profile so make sure that you have one set to your monitor. If you can't calibrate your display yourself your monitor manufacturer will usually provide a .icc or .icm profile to use.
 
to me, it always looked like photoshop had better color compared to just viewing the images on windows photo and fax viewer..
 
never enough to bother me completely, but i noticed that one of my 20WMGX2's is slightly warmer than the other as well... just ever so slightly...

We just got new displays, but our old ones (old 17?" apple cinemas) were aged enough that the color would vary from one side of the screen to the other 🙁

The left side of mine was quite a bit cooler than the right. It was a real problem.
 
ah... quite a bit would seriously bother me, but these monitors are going on 4 years, and they are still pretty flippin' awesome!
