photoshop 7.0 book...

anyone know of an especially good photoshop 7 tutorial book that i could buy?

i'd like to get a little more in-depth knowledge of the software, but there are about 90394853495890 books to choose from. didn't know if someone here might have a good experience with a certain title...

Why would you want to get a PS 7 book? I would go with PS CS (Creative Suite a.k.a. version 8.0). Dunno about the book though, most books, in my opinion, are crap. I learned everything by trial & error.

from what i understand CS is extremely spyware laden, so i've been trying to avoid it.

I can't recall the author, but he is basically the most established Photoshop authority, and works for Adobe.

His book for photoshop will be called "Photoshop X Bible" where the X is the version. Very nicely done books.

Not extremely, but there's some spyware involved with the install and some anti-piracy crap in it.
