When i use PS6 it runs fine until i connect to the internet then it realy slows down, eg if a click on zoom it takes 2-3 seconds to zoom where as when i'm not on the internet it's instantaneous, its the same with clicking buttons, selecting layers etc.
Any other programs i run are fine.
I tried disabling my network card, which was the only thing i could think of, and looked on the Adobe web site, but no luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Also, check in the PS Preferences how much memory it's grabbing for itself. The default is HALF the system RAM.:Q

But i can't understand why just a dialup connection would slow it down so much.
I could run PSP7, several IE's, winamp, Calypso email, and it would run fine.
But close all that and connect to the intrenet and its realy slow???

I was having similar problems, but I found out that it was an older Photoshop 5 preference file giving me all the problems. I deleted it and my performance issues went away.

I remember why i disabled my network card now because every time PS6 froze for a few seconds the light marked ACT flashed, but disabling my network card did not affect the problem.

I have tried different memory settings.

And PS6 is the only verson i have installed since last hard disk format.

It's fixed now, i deleted the PS6 prefs file and it works great :)
I'm still confused why it only did it when i was on the internet?
