photoshop 6 buggy?

anyone here using photoshop 6 yet? i've been running it for a few days now and it's messing up my system. it constantly kills winamp, just locks up the audio stream, and also screws with my network connection. none of these problems existed before i installed pshop 6, and none of them occur if photoshop isn't open. not to mention the fact that it takes over 200Mb of ram if i load a file with more than 5 embedded fonts. this sucks, because i like the new features, but it reminds me of photoshop 5 before the 5.02 upgrade. anyway, just ranting.

Yep, it's not anywhere near as stable as it should be, but I really like the new features, especially soft-proofing. Circumvention is to hit control-k and reduce the amount of memory PShop uses to 30%. See the Adobe user-to-user forum on their web site for the full catalogue of horrors.

actually i'm finding it to be a little more stable if i don't have netscape (email) open while i have photoshop open. it's funny, netscape and photoshop have never gotten along well. but the fact that it uses so damn much memory really sucks.

another funny thing under win2000 is to have the task manager open, monitoring the cpu usage. then go to any line of text in your image, and don't do anything except select the text tool and highlight a line of text. watch the cpu usage get pinned at 100% with the text simply highlighted! that's crazy.
