It seems like I've only ended up posting grumbles in the Apple forum recently...but....
What is the benefit to me of apple not allowing me to use google photos as my default photos app? Or at least letting it run as a system app with all the backgrounding/uploading etc etc that entails.
I've got stuff to get done and having to deal with Photos managing my photos isn't helping my mood at the moment.
Specifically Apple's face detection is shocking
and I've got 6500 photos of 60 people to sort through.
G-Photos face detection thinks there are about 70 distinct faces
A-Photos has given me approx 1400 "individual faces" to go through manually to Merge and Add.
There are some photos missing in google (EDIT: I thought this was a sync issue but A-photos does face detection in videos, while G-photos doesn't, hence the extras showing in A-photos) but I'll take that for being able to click on a face in G-photos and have it find 95% of all the photos I need (including some in profile, or photos of photos).
