The photos prove that Hezbollah is using civilians as human shields by operating within residental neighborhoods and wearing civilian clothes.

Wow, it's either photos that "damn Hezbollah" or the local NRA meeting. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending them, but this is pretty stupid proof.

I saw defensive weapons ...

I saw no offensive weapons ...

I mean I can dig plenty of those up.. im just saying those pics dont prove hezbollah to be bad people. It shows a bunch of people defending their neighborhood from an invading force.

I personally like this tidbit of information:

Melbourne Herald Sun is a newspaper in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia covering general news.

This newspaper is owned by News Corporation.

No agenda being pushed there I'm sure.

Looks like a street gang with guns. If you've seen one street gang, you've seen them all...

As far as being cowards? They look ready to rumble... to me anyway.

Maybe if a nuke was dropped on that whole region, people wouldn't fight for it or around it anymore. I'm getting tired of reading about all this petty violence.

What's sad is that US and UN policies don't help the situation any by involving themselves....and get ridiculed by the losing force if they don't step in to stop the carnage. It really sucks that the rest of the world has to put up with this.

For one, it shows a bunch of people in violation of the geneva/hague? conventions of war.

How?

I disagree.

ROFL @ the terrorist supporter

Being stupid should REALLY hurt more.

I wouldnt want to harm my loving liberals, though!

I wouldn't mind...stupidity transcends politics, I'd rather deal with a smart conservative than a dumb liberal. Of course you can imagine where dumb conservatives fall on my political preference scale...

While I dont mean to offend the terrorist appeasement movement here at AT, has it ever occured to you guys that if you are supporting people who want to kill an entire sect of people, you just might be on the wrong side?

Who's supporting anyone? There is a difference between supporting terrorists and suggesting that these photos are hardly conclusive proof of anything.

You guys seriously sound like a parody of your political position, the joke posts about how everyone "hates America" are hardly distinguishable from the stuff you guys post.

Oh I dont doubt that the photos would be inconclusive at best, but I live in reality.

You will take "This guy that knows this woman who had sex with this sheep that was eaten by this guy who rang up the ketchup who saw George Bush once said that he made 911 and Katrina happen, so it MUST be true!".

Yet when ANY evidence of the wrongdoings of the beloved terror cells comes out, bygod, it MUSNT be true!

You foxnews types are so igorant you're amusing....

What do you expect them to do? Stand out in an open field with red targets on their chests? What would YOU do if your country was invaded? Cower like a sniveling dog or do something about it? They have no tanks, no air force, no battleships, no nothing. So they can't fly around at 20000 feet dropping bombs on little kids like those brave Israelis. What should they do?

Hmm, I'm pretty sure I didn't say either of those things...and neither did anybody else. The ONLY point I made was that these three photos are pretty worthless as proof, much less "damning" evidence...I wasn't implying anything about Hezbollah in general. In fact, I went out of my way to make the point that I wasn't defending Hezbollah in any way. Yet like most people who certainly do not "live in reality", you hear what you wanted to hear. Aimster made exactly the same point I did...that these photos don't really prove anything.

It's not about "living in reality", it's about being able to rationally analyze reality. Here we have some inconclusive photos sold as something that damns Hezbollah. When the inconclusive nature of the photos is brought up, suddenly we're supporting the terrorists. Perhaps I'm missing a step here, but dealing with reality would suggest a reasonable analysis of the photos be independent of how we feel about Hezbollah. Only in fanatical conservative land must we believe every assertion made, no matter how flimsy the evidence, just because it's about the bad guys. That's just foolish.

I don't support the actions Hezbollah and groups like them are taking (nor do I totally support what Israel is doing in response), but I can certainly agree about asymmetric tactics. If you're part of a resistance group, this is how you fight. If the US were occupied or under attack by a vastly more powerful enemy, I'd put on civilian clothes and hide among civilians too in order to fight back. Now obviously this isn't the same kind of situation, but given the balance of forces, their tactics aren't exactly unreasonable.

I think terrorist groups like Hezbollah need to be defeated (one way or another) for a chance at peace in the Middle East, but whining about their tactics is kind of odd...they are a small terrorist group fighting a vastly more powerful, 1st world army...just exactly how are they supposed to fight? Note, I'm just talking about the idea of being more covert...not the intentional attacks on civilian targets.

Are they intentionally using neighborhoods for human sheilds, or are they just fighting on their own turf? Seeing as they are civilians, what should they be wearing?

have you even thought that needing to make absurd over-generalizations to have any sort of arguement might mean that you are on the wrong side?
