Photoreading - too good to be true?

I keep hearing commercials for "Steve Bissonette's Photoreading System" on the radio, and just today came across one of those paid advertisements on TV. The TV version was laughable, with the host shoveling "loaded" words at the viewers, and Steve himself demonstrating his super-fast reading skills by reading through sections of various books in seconds, turning the page every half second, it seemed, and then answering pop quiz-type questions, as if it wasn't staged. Then he read an excerpt out of a Dicken's novel from a laptop, all the while scrolling down the document without a single pause, as if the blur of words were discernable to him.

I know people are capable of photographic memory, and although this photoreading seems like a novel idea, I remain doubtful of it's legitemacy. What I found truly amusing is that they only provided a number to call, no price. Probably some astronomical amount.

My question is: has anyone here tried this system or know anyone who has? What's your take on it?
