Theres news about photonic chips rolling out from production lines in China soon from Sintone.

Never heard of this technology so is it a viable way for China to get around the export bans of high end ASML machines while improving their chip production capability in the high end? I suspect that alot of the news from Chinese establishment outlets are exaggerating the news about Sintone since theres hardly any reaction from the mainstream.

Photonic integrated circuit is in research for decades already. Looks like with much bleeding edge being sanctioned from reaching China nowadays they are pressing ahead with this one, not a bad idea.

China has seen the sanction writing on the wall for a long time.

Their universities and companies hold quite a lot of patents on graphene related technologies too.
