I am looking to get off a Sprint framily plan where I am paying $60 a month, and try using Ting and FreedomPop. I have an iPhone 4 right now, and I was thinking I would get a Photon Q, which apparently I can buy new on Amazon ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...F8&me=&seller=) for $90 or so, and I was going to activate that on Ting, and deactivate my iphone 4 on Sprint and activate it on FreedomPop.
In theory, I could end up paying as little as $6 per month (the no-use minimum on Ting) if I never go over the FreedomPop free allotment.
I don't know a whole lot about phones or plans, and so can't really anticipate what might go wrong. Anyone have any comments about that? It seems a little strange that a phone as apparently as good as a Photon Q is available new for $90 (good compared to my iphone 4 anyway, which even used seems to run about $110)...
I had been considering getting a Galaxy Mega or Galaxy S5 when my contract renews in July but honestly, I barely use mobile internet for anything important so it seems like I'd get more benefit out of reducing cash expenditure than increasing my device...
