These are REALLY bright keychains. Something about sapphire crystals or something. They sell them at Eddie Bauer too, but they're a bit more expensive.

dude, those are regular price here. They sell it for that much at the local grocier store. Good find for people that can't find them in their area. BTW, they are awesome for light shows. If you know what light shows are. :D

hey what are the newer microlights that are better than the classic photon IIs? I think they are called something LED...the lights are protected instead of being exposed like the photon IIs. Also anyone know anything about the 4.95 ones?

Light shows? well go to a rave and you'll know what they look like. :)

A "light show" is what you call it when that little bulb pops up over your head when you ask yourself "WTF did I bother posting that for?"

yea, i have 8 of them for that purpose =]

but yah, usually they have em @botach for 12 each, eb@y they float around for 12.50 each

go to the mall
sports equipment stores have em for 20-25 each
hot topic has em for 16 each

so i think it deserved to be a nice find =]

and i sincerely hope u weren't referring to the keychain led lights they have @ target and stuff for 4.95
they royally suck
waste of time

these lights are actually useful in an emergency

They offer one of their colors as "Infra-red" (extra $4.95)...which is out of the visible spectrum for humans. Anyone know what that looks like in a flashlight?

I don't think these are the cheap dime-store led lights...these things are really BRIGHT for their small size.

Still too much for me tho.

yah i was wondering about the infrared..since thats like invisible...maybe its that soft green light that is used as a flash light for ppl with infrared googles or telescopes so it doesnt blind em. anyhow, im still curious about the 4.95 ones...if anyones used those before..

I don't know if it really is IR, but maybe if you flicked it on and off real quick you could change channels on your TV. ;)

Actually, if it's really IR, you can probably use it with some night vision scopes to illuminate even more. Pretty cool.

Yah, I got my buddy to get me a similar type photon light from the local sporting goods store for free, but I just recently ordered a model Photon II for my brother. The best thing about the new ones is that in addition to being a press on light, they added an off/on switch. Just make sure you don't leave it on hehe. The best color is white for all around use, turquoise for brightness, red for soft light, and green for battery life. The infrared one is actually an infrared, and is used with nightvision goggles or telescopes to add significant light. So unless you are a crazy military fanatic who strolls the neighborhood after dark with his nightvision, or you just like to have all the toys and gagets possible...this one prolly ain't for you.

IR lights are to be used with night vision camcorders, goggles, cameras, etc. Some of these devices have built-in IR lights..some don't. The ones without the IR lights cannot work in total darkness.

Yeah, I got a white Photon II a while back... the little plastic piece that allows you to switch it on/off broke after 3-4 months, leaving the light permanently on. No big deal, a little poster putty made an acceptable substitute. I find that I use the microlight quite often, maybe 5-6 times a week. $10 is certainly a much better deal than I got when I purchased my Photon II.

I was doing a search to see how prices compared and found this other cool motion sensor light made by the same company.

check it out

the hotdeal posted by djchowfun is a great price, but now I am leaning towards this other light.

you can get these on e*gay for cheaper, i bought 5 of them (1 IR, 2 red, 2 blue) a few months ago.
Blue is the brightest one they make.

I'm in the army and use the red one all the time during FTX's.
IR one works good if you got night vision goggles. Really lights up around you and invisible to the naked eye.
