So as my collection of pics has been growing, i've slowly been printing some pics here and there from various places, typically 8x10's... Sams Club, Ritz, the other local places.

I was curious to see where everyone else went for their high quality prints?

I used to print at home w/ my Canon S900, but expensive ink costs and various other issues always cropped up, so rather than buy a whole new printer, i just "outsource" my images.

I've been looking more at using some higher quality facilities, such as White House Custom Color (http://www.whcc.com) but wanted to check here to see what is recommended.

I prefer a Matte finish with a very smooth output, never been a big fan of glossy/lustre/dimpled media.

Prints that customers order are processed by smugmug.com, which uses EZprints. I use mPix for personal use-- little pricier but i trust them over everyone else, plus print + delivery time is very fast.

I use mpix.com.

I've always had good results and they come back surprisingly accurate to the color that is on my monitor.

Kinko's can do a good job, cheap and convenient. Or find a print shop, look in your paper for i guess printing or something and call them up. They'll do a good job.

mPix looks fantastic... I'll give them a shot...

Only thing that kinda sucks is $4.95 shipping, but as long as i order a few, shouldnt be an issue :)

Aphex,

I'm not sure where you live but... ever since I got into "professional" photography (yeah it was my college major) I have used Dan's Camera City for any higher end printing I need. The last thing I had done was an 11x27 poster of a macro shot. Cost me about $60 for the test strip and enlargement and I sold it for about $100 unframed. :) I have used these guys for about 15 years now and even went to a couple of training seminars on kodak processing with a few of the lab techs. They are good!!!!
