You will need more than just slow shutter speed to achieve silky smooth waterfall look.
A Neutral Density filter is needed too.

Depends on light levels, and if you can change the ISO setting in the camera.

I use Velvia at ISO 40 (rated at 50) for film shots like that. Rarely have to do anything other than stop down to f16 or f22.

I can't take credit for this one, but my b.i.l. took this pic when he and his wife went to Tofino for their 1 yr. anniversary.

Hey lirion, WTF is this?!?! You are the bug expert.

That is the larva of an imperial moth (Eacles imperialis). It's one of my favorite caterpillars. Imperial moths belong to the family Saturniidae, along with the other giant silkworm moths.

You're photo actually answers a question I've been pondering lately. Pine is one of their favorite foods, in fact there is a subspecies that eats only pine, but I was wondering if they ever end up on spruce as well. And now I know. Thanks for posting!

Here's
mine. I think it's pretty good, but I'm not quite happy with it yet. It's pretty late and I'll probably have to wait until next year to try again now.
