so, i'm looking for a scanner, and i notice that they have fancy 'transperancy/slide' addapters and stuff, also i notice i pay $50 more for those options. Can i scan transparencies and slide photos on a normal scanner and still have them look good? Is this just some dumb billionare company's idea of how they can bleed a few more pennies outa me? My parents have hundreds of slides from when i was a kid and when tehy were younger, so that'd be the primary use of it, transfering them to the computer so i can make copies. What would you recommend?

If you want to scan slides I would suggest you get a scanner with a transparency adapter, maybe the epson 1240U Photo Scanner.
