Hi,

I've been trying to get a little more serious about taking pictures recently, organizing, storing and so on. I haven't moved to digital yet as I have quite a few rolls of film I need to use. The package says develop by 02-2008 :p I'm just wondering if anybody as any advice, tips or links to proper storage, organization and scanning of 35 mm prints and negatives. I'm quite disapointed that the negatives from the pictures from my childhood are no where to be found. So I want to start taking thing into my own hands.

Thanks!

Store in a cool, dry, dark place. Slides usually come back in their own box from the developer, IIRC, so just use those. You can buy sheets of negative holders and boxes to store your prints from your developer as well.

I don't have a film scanner so I can't really comment on that.

Have a can of compressed air and negative wipes handy for scanning. You'll want to remove as much dust as possible to ensure good scans.

If you really want to stick with film, you should fine a photography club or classes near you with dark room access. There's really nothing quite like actually developing your own prints.
