I don't even bother replacing the desktop wallpaper any more. I do virtually nothing directly on the desktop and 99% of the time I'm on the PC, all of my monitors are covered with open windows.

I always kinda preferred the animated wallpapers found in Vista Ultimate. Playstation 3 had some cool animated backgrounds too but they removed it for the PS4.

This was all known a long time ago. I actually looked up the spot a while back. I've driven by there before. But nice to hear from the actual photographer.

They definitely did some touch up and adjustments though despite what they say. Which is expected. To much contrast if you ask me.

He probably got paid $15 for it.

FedEx or other deliver service would not insure it because M$ was paying so much. He couldn't insure it for what they were paying, so a bit more than $15. But you would know that if you watched the video.:whiste:

It is VERY simple to get bliss.

1. Type "WIndows XP Bliss" in Google, Bing, Yahoo Images or whatever you use.
2. Click the image (a person without a brain can do that.)
3. In google images, click "View Full Image."
4. Type the Windows key and Prt Scroll key.
5. Open a photo editor and edit resolution and crop the other crap in the photo until you have only bliss.
6. Open Control Panel.
7. Click "Change Desktop Background."
8. Browse the computer folr Bliss.
9. Check your screen.
10. Done!

Seriously???

Once you have the image displayed full size in your browser (usually it will be by itself in a tab), just put your mouse cursor over it and then drag and drop it onto your desktop or into some other folder.

he should have negotiated a royalty for the pic.

would have never had to work another day in his life.

Do you really think anyone at Microsoft would be stupid enough to offer that type of contract?, had he demanded that they would have just chosen another photo for XP's background and he would have got paid $0..

i remember reading something years ago about it, he didn't say how much MS paid him but he did say that it was enough that he really didn't have to sell any more pictures

I always thought that was a drawing/painting or fake...

Yeah, it always seemed vaguely photoshopped to me, like it had some composite & color-correction work done to it. Maybe it was just the scanner technology at the time...
