photobuffs advice, please!

whenever i take a picture close-up with the flash on, the flash washes everything out.
anything i can do other than simply take far away pictures and do digital zoom to make large?

Do not use flash.
Use long-shutter with low iso level.

or a filter over the flash? I'm not familiar with that camera but you should be able to adjust it somewhat.

Using Manual mode on the A75 will let you alter the strength of the flash. 🙂

Use self timer, macro mode on, and a tripod. And of course, sufficient lighting.

thanks for the "manual mode" suggestion. i figured that would work but...some people are too damn lazy to actually adjust it.

Change the exposure setting. Set a higher shutter speed. Increase the aperature.

there is also a flash output setting on the A75. i'm not sure how low you can actually set it though, as i usually just get a tripod, adjust the exposure time, and turn the flash off all together.
