I have family photos from various reunions and get togethers. In the past I have made CDs and mailed them out which is a hassle if you have lots of recipients.

I've looked at some of the photo sharing sites and their FAQs usually dwell on what the registered owner can do but they have very little on what visitors can do.

It appears that many of the sites out there require visitors to register before they can download full resolution pictures (but I'm really not sure, like I said, there isn't much information about this on their help screens). I've found through experience that many people just won't go to the trouble, either they already are registered on another site and don't want to have redundant accounts or they don't want to create another username/password they have to remember.

Here is what I want:
1. ability to post large pictures, around 5-6 mb
2. private access to the posted pictures
3. visitor access by invitation
4. visitor downloads of the full resolution picture just by clicking, no passwords, no registration, no username

What I don't care about:
1. fancy webpages, designs, layouts
2. associated photo printing, calendars, mugs or other services
3. community, comments

I just want to deliver a lot of pictures efficiently and easily to many people scattered across the US. And since I won't use this as a constantly building photo album, I'm not interested in a large yearly subscription fee.

Thanks for any help steering me in the right direction.

Thanks for the help. I think I'm going to sign up at Zenfolio. Basic account is $25/year and I got a coupon code for $5 off. It looks like it will do what I really need, plus it's a nice setup and $20 for a year is not too much.
