Photo scanner recommendations?

Has anyone here used a good scanner for scanning in photos and negatives? I've got a large number that I want to get digital copies of, but doing it with my flatbed is painful and time consuming, plus the scans always seem to have dirt and dust.

Ideally I'd purchase the scanner to do my project, then sell it when finished.

Any recommendations?

everyone loves the nikons, but they're pretty expensive, even on ebay. because they hold their value so well, you'll be able to resell it for most of what you paid for it, though.

I have a Canon Scanner, that has a tray where you put your negatives and it will be scan then as a pictures (3 at the time), really cool, a little slow, but it works for me.

Since I'm in the office working :))) and I can't tell you the exact model, but if you are interested please send me a PM, so I will remember to look for that info.

Well, I can't recommend a flatbed, but I can say, o man, stay away from Pakon f135 film scanners!
