Photo Restoration?

Aves

Lifer
I'm interested in having an older photo restored and it's not in great shape at all. I have been looking around online for places and found these guys image-edit.com but I can't really find any reviews of their work other than what's on their website.

Any of you have experience with this? Am I better off going to somewhere local than trying to do it online?

This is the photo I want restored. The original is 11"x14"

If image-edit.com can do this then it doesn't seem like they'll have a problem with my picture.

You could probably do it just as well yourself with Photoshop and a few hours of your time.

Or send me $_________ and I'll do it for you!! 😉

i have a book on photo restoration through photoshop...i haven't read it but i'm sure i could fix up this picture. It would definately take a lot of work though.

if you know photoshop at all, you would be able to do this yourself if you had the time and skill, but if you've got 25-50 bucks to through on restoration then go ahead and do it.

I did something similar. The photo was 5x7 and it took me about 2 days to get it just right using Paint Shop Pro 7.

I'm cringing at the thought of doing something similar on an 11x14 scan.

Yeah, those are pretty good. Gotta love the Clone tool 😀

Scan it in at a higher resolution (The pic may be like 5-10mb) but one of us could do it for you..... for free. Then have a film developer print it out for you ($5).

Hell, I'll do the whole thing and send you a print for less than the $68 they want. I'll do it fo $34 🙂

I can only print it at 8x10, though, but it'll be true photo quality.

Notfred did a GREAT job.

Don't know if I could beat that.

Quickie repair job.

Wow that's pretty good.

I don't think I'll be able to do this myself on an 11x14 photo but I think I'll at least give it a shot.

Just post a hi-res scan of it and I'm sure that many of the PSers out there will do it free of charge (myself included 😉)

...colorization is a possibility too
