Photo printer recommendations, sil vous plait.

I've decided this would be a spiffy Xmas gift for MrsFausto since she's always wanting to send pics of the Faus-Tot to various relative and we only have a digcam. I know basically nothing about these things, but would like to keep the purchase price under $200 if that's reasonable.

Thankyaverymuch.

I havehad a few HPs and now a Canon i960 and the Canon is the best photo printer I have ever seen for under $200.

I just got an Epson R200, which is very cheap now, $70 after rebate from newegg, etc.

great photos, and it prints on CDs/DVDs, which is really cool

however, keep in mind, it's probably cheaper to print at sam's club, costco, etc for 18 cents for a 4x6. Good ink is expensive. But you can get cheap ink from megatoners.com, etc .....

The Canon IP4000 is now probably the best budget all around printer. Great text, fantastic photo quality. About $149.

Are you planning on getting a dedicated photo printer, like the ones that do 4x6 or whatever...or are you looking for a do everything printer that does photos real well? I have a canon bjc-8200 which is about 4 years old and it does photos pretty darn good on photo paper. I have heard nothing but good things about canon printers.

I bought my wife a Canon MP390 multipurpose printer. It's a fax/scan/copy/print thing all in one deal. Prints decent pictars and is fast. Only $132 at Amazon.com. Also has a memory card reader built in as well. She loves it.

Agree on the Canon, especially with Megatoners carrying cartridges for my i860 for less than $2.

It's time to buy a dozen carts too...

Another plus for the i960 is that I have printed off probably 50 pictures and I am still on the original cartridges. 😀
