So I finally have become comoftable with my new digicam, the Sony DSC-F707.

It's awesome and very powerful / cool, but I find it too hard to manage the shots I get off of it. For example, when I download all the shots off the camera, they are all sequentially numbered and at some ungodly high resolution. Then I have to open each one in Adobe Photoshop to move it down to a resolution that's more appropriate for webpage use.

Anyone know of some software that lets me maintain (at least) an internal picturebook that will automate much of the process?

Thanks!

Photoshop 7 will do this (File/Automate/Web Photo Gallery).

It will take all of the photo's in a folder and resize them to your preference, and create html thumbnail pages.

The downside is price. Photoshop is expensive.

If you are strictly trying to make web based photo albums, then Thumbs Plus is about $70 and it will also do batch resizing (it's an image database program).

But if you are looking for something free try Easy Thumbnails and see if it suits your needs.
