I'm sure the good people of Phoronix will figure it out... might have something to do with how multi-threading is handled in Linux.

Regardless, a pretty even match, sans the 2070 result as you pointed out.

Yes, it's total system power, but it's higher in Linux by a significant amount than in Windows for some reason. Probably just some energy handling feature not working right or something in Linux.

Might be related to the chipset.

That's it. They used X570, I believe they should have tried the X470

I remember seeing at least one review of an x570 motherboard where, for some reason, the system power draw was like 40-50W higher than some other x570s in the same test. The author's conclusion was that it was board power, but they didn't know why it was happening. So yeah, x470 would have eliminated that possibility.
