Here's what I want to do. I have 3 computers in my room that is using ethernet as a local lan.

I also have another computer in a different part of the house that I would want to be a part of this network. But I don't want to route a long CAT5 cable across my house.

There are phone line connection near my computers. Can I use those USB PhoneNet adapters to network them all together? I want to keep using ethernet on my 3 computers. I just want to use PhoneNet on the far away computer to connect to one of the computers in my 3 computer network.

In other words, the computer in the other room will have a USB PhoneNet adapter and one of the computers in my local lan will have both an ethernet card *and* a USB PhoneNet Adapter. Is this possible?

If you do that, the computer in the other room will only be able to access the PC it's connected to through PhoneNet, but won't be able to access the other computers on the CAT5 LAN. Only the computer with both the PhoneNet and the CAT5 NIC will be able to access ALL the PCs in your house.
