The only issue I had is that on my Google Calendars I had more than one calendar. One for my work schedule and one for my wife's. By default the Gmail client on WP8 only syncs the first calendar. There is no way to get the other ones.

I guess this was a problem in WP7 as well and found some walkthroughs on how to login to the google moble sync site and enable synching of the additional calendar.

You can, but it's a bit hackish on it -- you do the same thing in Windows 8 mail app. But it works reasonably well.

From Microsoft Answers

1. Download User Agent Switcher from the Chrome Webstore
2. Select an iOS device
3. Go to http://m.google.com/sync
4. Deactivate Javascript in Settings (Show advanced settings, Privacy > Content settings > Do not allow any site to run JavaScript)
5. Click your Windows Mail device
6. In the URL change supportMultiCalendars=false to supportMultiCalendars=true
7. Submit URL (Press Enter)
8. Check the boxes for the calendars you'd like to sync
9. Save
10. Readd your Google Account to your Windows Calendar app. It now works.
(Re-enable JavaScript in Chrome)

Best bet is what I did. Upgrade to an iPhone 5. Sell it. Buy a GS3, and pocket the profits.

lol, I dunno about the OP's company but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want you to go off and sell a work phone.

I would be torn with N4 vs Lumia 920. But probably would choose N4 to give the Win8 app market to mature a bit.

Just played with my aunts s3. Screen looks like garbage and if this is "butter" then some people really need to handle an iPhone.

Nice real estate space though.

Most of the US carriers haven't pushed out Jellybean for the SGS3 yet so you weren't seeing butter.

I'm not sure how the screen is garbage either, was it on auto brightness by an chance?

i dont get the sudden SGS3 love here when the past month this whole board has been creaming their pants about the Nexus 4.

You have a link handy for an unlocked SGS3 for $349?

I find it fairly comical that you who lament the carriers so much fail to realize that the biggest strength of the Nexus4 is that it gives people a way out from the carriers contracts at a great price.

If the SGS3 was available unlocked for $349 the Nexus4 would be a quaint side note for the Android purists, they probably would still have plenty of their initial stock left right now too :)

Stop being a drama-mama, the s3's screen is not garbage. And I have a couple of iPhones as well as the s3 so I am not at all biased.

My aunt knows nothing about phones so I'm sure it was bone stock.

I'm in the market for a note2 so I'm hoping my hands on with that machine is much better than my brief experience with the s3.

The screen straight up looked pixelated. This is only in comparison to a 4s!

The PPI on the s3 is >300. I can't see that being pixelated!

Pentile or not the sub pixels on the S3's screen are small enough that a normal person can't see them, I just got mine a few hours ago but so far I've gotten a couple of comments from family members about it having a sharper display than the S2's they are used to.

That all said the Note 2 uses a different type of Super AMOLED display than the S3 so it should be even sharper.

Hi Guys,

I am about to pick me new work phone. I can choose between:

Apple iPhone 5 32GB
Samsung Galaxy S3
Sony Xperia S
Nokia Lumia 920
LG Nexus 4

But which? First thoughts:

I don't like iOS, so I will probably rule out iPhone5.
Sony Xperia S seems like an obselete phone, compared to the others.
I already have a Samsung Galaxy 2, and really like it. I especially like the fact that my contacts are automatically synced with my Gmail account.

On the other hand, Microsoft Office in the Lumia is a big advantage. Hmm.

My must have apps:

Gmail
An exchange client
Dropbox
A guitar tuner
Kindle
A PDF reader
Spotify
A calender which can sync with both Exchange and Gmail
Google+
A metronome
A VNc client

Thoughts?

The PDF app for Lumia 920 sucks. One main reason mine is being returned today.

Thread necromancy. Wo-hoo!

I just wanted to thank you for your input. I ended up with the Samsung Galaxy S3. LTE was very important, and I did not have the time to mess around with finding replacements app for Windows Phone.
that left the SG3. It is fine, though not a very big upgrade from the S2, actually.
