Phone/tablet screen glare

I currently have a Droid DNA and a Nexus 7 (2012) that I've been using to watch HBO GO on lunch breaks. Its in an office so there is fluorescent lighting everywhere and I'll just say... its hard to tell who's on the screen in a dark show like boardwalk empire because all i can see is my freakin reflection.

The nexus is a little better than the DNA just because the screen is larger I think . My question is are 2013/14 devices any better glare? I understand I'm more in the 2012 world with my gear here.

You could try a matte screen protector.

All screens wash out to an extent in bright lights, but you want a combination of good brightness + low screen reflectance. I can't seem to find the tablet chart, but you can see some examples at:
