Phone systems? Help!

I am moving into college (Pacific Lutheran University) on September 5th. I called the college and asked if I could bring my own Cordless phone, but they said that my room's phone line is on a "digital system". Is there any way to make my normal phone hook up to the campus phone network? Does anyone have any info on this?

You have to have a digital phone. Nothing else will work..And for god's sake, don't plug your modem into the phone jack...It will probably not work afterwords.
