Phone Service

I am thinking about switching phone services from verizion to that SERO sprint thing. That deal looks like its just too good to pass up. The thing is that I don't know anyone that is on sprint so I really have no idea how good their network is. The map they show in my area looks ok to me but I am not sure if when they say "fair" or "good" if thats what they actually mean or is it actually "you can barely get a signal" and "haha good luck with that".

I want a data plan and am looking at getting one of the treos or the Mogul. My whole family is on verizon and I've been with verizion for my whole cell phone life of about 8 years....just 85bucks very everything when i can get it for 35 just rubs the business major in me the wrong way.

From what i heard, Sprint has horrible customer service so YMMV. Where do you live? You should check out howard forum on the coverage.

I live in PA

Yeah i heard the customer service is terrible but honestly I've rarely had to call verizon about anything and as long as the service works I really am not a picky customer.

I wonder if i could get that sweet employee referral thing and my privite employer discount thing

The customer service is just as bad as any other cell phone carrier. I honestly think they are all crap. The coverage depends heavily on where you are. I get great coverage with Sprint where I am (no help to you). Also, I have SERO and 25% employer discount. I tried to get a loyalty discount on top and they shut me down. If I tried harder, I probably could get it. When you order, mention that they had free unlimited text messages in June and you really want that and they will probably give it to you. Read up on Sprint and you'll understand why I suggest that.

So i checked my employee discount thing and I get 15% off the bill and 15% off phones i believe. So I can just call sprint say i want SERO or the employee referal thing and then add my own employee savings ontop of that?

I've read up on sprint...not following ya. I don't think i would text more or less then I already do.

Karma,

Read the slickdeals forum thread or PM me.

Do not plan on getting the company discount. The SERO plan is already heavily discounted and they are not rejecting almost everyone's discounts.

Sprint's coverage is ok, not as good as Verizon but not terrible. Their CS is the worst in the industry by far. I would not have gone with them if it were not the fact that their plan is 1/3-1/2 of what I would pay at Verizon. PM me with any questions.

I just want to ask another question about sprint to clarify cause i have gotten a few different answers from people/employees.

Apparently Sprint is allowed to use verizons towers. So does this mean wherever i get verizon service i can make calls?
They also said that if you are on a verizon tower the internet wont work and the nights will start at 9 instead of 7. Also they said that the coverage map that sprint has on their website is including verizons.

Is this the truth? If this is true then shouldn't sprints network be just as good as verizons?

You'll probably find the answer by searching and/or posting your question here:
