Phone scratch is driving me crazy.

The other night I discovered my month-old Samsung Galaxy S7 got it's first scratch. From what I can tell it's an oleophobic scratch, since it only shows up in the right angle of light, and running my finger across it I feel nothing, but gosh does it bother the heck out of me. Picture of it in direct light: http://i.imgur.com/Iyjqpmh.png

I'm pretty sure it all boils down to my OCD, i'll seriously stop using it to point it at light and say "Mhm yep, still there". I know there's no real way to fix it, but from what I hear a good tempered glass screen protector can make it far less visible. Should I just try to let it go and enjoy it for what it is or start shopping for a protector?

So, that huge ugly sarcophagus you got on it did not help? Looks like it has raised lip :/

I just read that GG5 on the Note7 is very scratch prone, far more than GG4, does S7 also use the new one?

I... don't know? I mean I wasnt putting huge trust in my case protecting the front anyway from scratches and JUNK anyway, as long as it can save me a drop or two.

GG literally seems like it's taking a step bacl every iteration. GG3 had below average scratch resistance, GG4 was worse, and now GG5 is somehow even worse? Yeesh.

I believe an auto parts store might have a small crack repair liquid that might help. What it does is fill into the crack.

I take no responsibility for my suggestion. LOL :D

Edit- You're not suppose to use profanity outside of Off-topic. I would edit your post.

If you find a glass screen protector that you like let us know. I tried out several and they all lifted along the long edges as the screen rolls off there. I haven't checked in several months so maybe somebody has been able to manufacture one with that small curvature integrated into it. I think that would really complicate application to the point of near impossibility so they may never even be made.

You'll dislike the lifting more than the scratch.

That's not the edge model. There isn't a tempered glass for the standard s7? I thought it was flat

Not along the long edges. It rolls off slightly. The problem is that a glass protector that will not lift at those edges is so narrow that people complain about dragging their fingers over the edges of the protector.

Ah... someone make a curved tempered they'll make some good money.

First of all you need a new case protector... try spigen...

I've had my s6 for about a year, I try not to put my keys and phone in same pocket, but it happens. So far no scratches on my phone at all, I don't have any protection on other then a case protector (noted above) that does have a slightly higher lip around the front and lip around where the camera is.

Anyway, you could try toothpaste, or that wax for the car headlights that make them new again, stuff is suppose to fill in the cracks then you buff it out. I think you are screwed tho, for not noticing it. It's like finding that one dead pixel on a DLP projector, when watching movies once you find one, you will always kinda look for it!

Let us know if you find anything that works!

No offence to you two but don't do any of the above!

You could try reapplying the coating if it's just that that's damaged.

an oleophobic scratch has very little to do with the glass underneath it, its a coating on top of the base glass, not all phone manufactures use the same coatings, they are similar in function but nearly all different in some way, and some are better then others. its not a feature of the base glass

A polyurethane based skin will hide it well, and give great scratch protection. Try searching for a skinomi skin on ebay, it should come up pretty cheap.
