Phone interview with Accenture HR

this is not a consulting position supposedly but it is a programmer's position

it's for a software engineer related position that appears to be entry-level and the bottom of the job description says little to no travel required...

the phone interview is scheduled to be about 30-45 minutes long.....

i've heard some negative things about having to work long hours... but thats not a biggie for me i think as long as i get my fridays, saturdays and sundays...

Make sure you get the name of the interviewer (so that you can send a "Thank you" email later). Write down your questions prior to your interview and outline your strengths, etc. (e.g., cheat sheet)

Practice talking on the phone with a friend-- to make sure that your voice is clear and you're not screaming or anything. As with face-to-face interviews, sit upright and don't slouch; your voice will sound different if you're lounging on the couch, rather than sitting up. 🙂

Best of luck!

I just had my second round interview with Accenture. First round was a screening/general interview, second round was behavioral. They said they would get back to me in a week for an on-site.

Look out for the normal questions, leadership experence, and know about the company. He asked me some bullsh*t i didnt know, and wanted to hold it against me...

Oh man you really don't wanna work there unless you don't want to have a life.

A friend of mine started working there full time after graduation, and she pretty much has to live at work....long hour weekdays and weekends almost continously. I think she's had only two weekends to herself since August.

is she doing consulting? i'm hoping that this position is not a consulting job..... thanks!

well she goes to client sites and does some programming on site with her team. Apparently her managers set some crazy deadlines which causes her entire team to spend atleast 80 hours a week at the client's site if not more.

that may be different for where you work though.
