Phone interview tomorrow

I've got a phone interview lined up tomorrow afternoon for a position that I'm not really qualified for. Based on their required/desired skills listed for the job position I have about 5 of 10 of the skillsets described. I plan to just straight out tell the interviewer I don't know an answer to a question if I really don't know. Honestly I'm surprised anybody called me for this position. Anyways, its going to be a technical hiring manager calling me. Anybody have some last minute advice for me?

If it's gonna be long I usually have a cup of water next to me. Phone interviews are definitely weirder since you're not seeing the person, so just relax and plow through it. Good luck!

Water or some beverage is a must when doing an interview like this. Also, I tend to pace during interviews like this, so grab your cordless if you need it.

Make sure your cordless phone is fully charged,
Have a pad of paper and pens pencil handy to jot down notes as you go,
Have a list of questions you want to ask,

I second both ideas. Pacing is helpful. But don't pace too much!

Also, just because the interviewer is the technical hiring manager doesn't mean that he is going to grill you with technical questions but I would expect some out-of-the-blue technical questions. They do that to test your attentiveness and your ability to give a answer rather than stuttering and sounding clueless. Don't be making things up though!

If you ARE totally clueless on something, you can say that you are a smart guy who can be trained and is very adaptable and "trainable". Unless they want you to join and set up real quick, they would be willing to show you the ropes if you have the general know-how and the background knowledge.

Went through one for my current job. Actually preferred it to an in-person interview. I dressed comfortably (shorts/t-shirt) to stay relaxed and make sure you're in a cool environment. I was in Hawaii at the time, so that was important. I second what others have said, in particular, have a list of good questions when it's your turn to ask. You may not feel qualified, but obviously they think you may be.
