Phone interview tomorrow! EDIT: No one called...

I have a interview over the phone for a co-op position tomorrow, and I've never had to do one before. Anyone have any experiences doing phone interviews, tips or suggestions on what to have prepared, typical questions interviewers ask, etc etc? Any help would be hugely appreciated (especially if I get the job 😉 )

ChinamanatNCSU, phone interviews are just like regular interviews in my experience, except you don't have to get dressed 😛

The only tips I can offer is to not use a speaker phone and don't have the radio and or TV on in the background, hope this helps and good luck 🙂

good luck, phone interviews SUCK! my advice is to write out a few key words or phrases you want to remember to work in "team player" or a certain project you worked on that you want to be sure and remember. always good to have a cheat sheet.

suggestion:
do the interview in the nude. That way, if you start to get nervous, just look down and then picture the person on the other end of the phone nude too!!

Yes, they suck majorly!

Well, its now 5:45, and the guy still hasn't called. So, either I got the date and/or time wrong, which I doubt since I wrote it down and coulda sworn I asked the person to repeat it, or the guy somehow forgot or didn't have time. I left a message with the HR lady that initially called me asking what's up, so hopefully I can get this cleared up sometime soon. If I was at fault, I'm going to feel like a complete idiot...😛

If I may offer some more advice, if he just calls out of the blue sometime and wants to interview, don't do it. Make them set a time so you can prepare yourself mentally. I totally blew a phone interview one time because the guy called at a bad time but I felt like I had to talk to him then, my mind was totally not into it.
