Phone Interview in an hour

I have a phone interview for this job I'd really like to get but have never done a phone interview before. What can I expect? What should I say? I know this, the person doing the interview does not have much hiring authority, she is going to basically record our interview and give it to a higher up person, i know this shouldn't matter to much but... any other advice?

be calm, anunciate(sp?) , and write down all those interview questions and your answers on some note cards i.e. your best quality, your worst quality, why they should hire you over joe shmoe, etc.

I had a phone interview and it was very much the same as a regular interview in terms of questions, etc. I did find, however, that it's much harder to express yourself without actually being there. You can't show a clean and tidy appearance smart/pro clothing, etc.

Try and make this a short pre-interview and push to have a proper interview in person. "I'll be happy to come in and meet you personally so we can talk about this position further" or somehting along those lines....

Ugh... I would hate a phone interview... you have to sell yourself so much better because they cant see you while you do it...

oh I heard that if you dressed nicely, just like if you were going to the interview, it will help you "feel" the interview better.

What ever questions you have...

Dont worry about this man... not a big deal... go into it thinking you have something to give them, not the other way around... Be calm, relaxed, laid back... when everything is over... if you want to know about pay, raises, benefits, vacation... just ask... Whatever questions you want to know that they did not provide in the interview, you ask.

If you are not nervous, laid back and calm... they will feel that over the phone... also, smile when you talk... makes you sound better and more happy as a person...

Make sure you know something about the company (at least superficial information found on their Web site). It always annoys me when candidates aren't able to explain what my company does. ("Why the fvck are you applying here if you don't know what we do!?")

The one that stumps me is:

Tell me about a recent negative encounter you had with a coworker? I mean how the hell are you supposed to answer that?

Great advice, however you should open at least two (depending on weight) before the call or you will think to much.

"Well to be honest Sir........I once worked at a Nissan dealership and there was a relatively unatractive woman working there. One day at the sales meeting before work she leaned over and said "when I fvck my husband I am thinking about you".and rubbed my no-no place under the desk. Later on that day she paged me to her office. She asked me to shut the door and come help her with a "due bill". When I walked around to her side of the desk I noticed she had her skirt pulled up and was masturbating. She told me to close the shades to the office and fvck her. I did but overall it was a negative experience. Both of the salesmen in the next office knew what had went on and started hounding me about "fvcking the ugly girl".
