with all the pc innovations, one would think by now the mobo manufacturers would come up w/ better attachment methods or is this just a good way to sell more motherboards

how many here uses cases w/ mobo slide out trays, how are they?

the thermaltake silent boost is big and bulky (1#1.7oz), and the clips are not easy to attach and remove either.....can see the mobo straining from being depressed

Thermaltake Silent Boost Heatsink, A1889
  • I've replaced and tested alot of heatsinks, but this one put up a phenomenal fight going onto my Asus A7N8X Deluxe. The small mounting clip is a design disaster. The clip kept snapping under the heatsink and I nearly cracked my core trying to get it repositioned. An eighth inch taller clip would have made a world of difference.

0... And I've installed on an A7N8X-D, like the one above... HAD massive problems but it worked. And also I almost drove a flathead through an MSI board, but for some reason it worked. lol.

i'm still not even sure what the op is asking.

i use a zalman 7000alcu for the last 3 years and it hasn't let me down once. And hasn't broken my mobo either...

not a single one. i have one that bolts through the board and as long as you're only getting it as tight as your fingers can grip it won't do anything
